UK MODERN SLAVERY ACT TRANSPARENCY STATEMENT – FINANCIAL YEAR 2024
Background
This Statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”) and constitutes the Transparency Statement for Centerview Partners UK LLP (“CPUK”) for the financial year ending 31 March 2024.
CPUK is a private, independent financial advisory firm.
Policy and awareness
CPUK’s Anti-Modern Slavery policy reflects CPUK’s zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery both within CPUK and in any of its suppliers or vendors, and encourages staff to report any suspected instances of modern slavery.
Staff profile and recruitment practices
We have rigorous human resources (“HR”) policies and procedures in place which are consistent with our obligations under the Act. We seek highly qualified candidates who are generally aware of their employee and human rights and we subject permanent employees and consultants to appropriate background checks. We will continue to adhere to our stringent HR standards, thereby limiting the risk of modern slavery in our business operations.
Supply Chain
In carrying out its business, CPUK engages third party suppliers such as regulated professional advisers, property management services, IT services, HR services, catering services, cleaning services, goods suppliers, utility providers and transportation providers. As a leading financial advisory firm, we are committed to acting within the highest standards of ethical behaviour, including how we select our suppliers.
Response
CPUK conducts an annual modern slavery risk assessment on our supply chain. We use the risk assessment to identify potential exposures to modern slavery risk. The key factors in our risk assessment are: (i) the sector in which a supplier operates; and (ii) the jurisdiction where the supplier is incorporated and/or has significant operations.
Our findings show that our suppliers are low-risk. We engage reputable suppliers primarily based in the UK or other low-risk jurisdictions as assessed by the Global Slavery Index. Based on these findings, CPUK adopts a risk-based approach to managing any potential risk of modern slavery in our supply chain.
Next steps and ongoing work
CPUK is committed to a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery.
The risk assessment we have completed will be repeated in each financial year in order to ensure that our exposure to modern slavery risk is assessed regularly and managed appropriately. We will continue to apply a risk-based approach to implementing appropriate due diligence processes on third party suppliers. We will continue to monitor developments in this area, including new guidance published by the government and relevant organisations.
